Speakers at the Expo

Jack Reznicki - Presented by Canon

A popular lecturer and teacher, Jack's intelligence and wit are evident in the numerous lectures and workshops that he gives to professional groups and colleges around the country and abroad. In his talks, Jack shows how creative thinking helps solve his clients' visual needs. Jack's lectures and workshops are well known for his open, direct style of communication, not to mention for his sense of humor. As an early advocate of digital photography, Jack has a direct and "plain English" approach in explaining digital photography to both beginners and experts.

David H. Wells - Presented by Olympus

David H. Wells is a freelance documentary photographer and photo-educator based in Providence, Rhode Island. His work has been shown around the world in over fifty exhibitions. He has produced images for local, national and international clientele. Past assignments have been for Life Magazine, National Geographic Publications and the New York Times Magazine to name a few. He has taught workshops at the International Center of Photography in NYC and at the Maine Photographic Workshops. Join a master of the photo-essay for a 45-minute introduction to the simultaneously disciplined startegy and magical process that turns a bunch of simple pictures into a powerful photo-essay.

Ron Magill - Presented by Nikon

Ron Magill has worked with wildlife for over 30 years and has had the privilege of having hands-on experience with a tremendous variety of animals ranging from crocodiles to eagles to cheetahs. He is an internationally recognized zoological authority who has appeared on a wide variety of local, national, and international programs including "National Geographic Explorer," the "Today Show," "Good Morning America," "NBC Nightly News," "The Late Show with David Letterman," "CBS' The Early Show," "Live with Regis," "Dateline," and CNN. His extensive experiences have taken him around the globe to explore the wonders of our natural world. From swimming with sea lions off of the Galapagos Islands to tracking tigers on the back of an elephant in India, his adventures have allowed him to live many of the dreams he had as a child. No place has made a greater impact on him than the magical continent of Africa to which he has traveled over 30 times. He considers traveling to the wilds of Africa a "safari of the soul" that will leave the visitor with an indelible impression of indescribable beauty from a world lost in time.

Elliott Landy - Presented by Gallery 270

Elliott Landy began documenting the "underground" music culture in New York City in the mid 1960's. This happened as a result of his returning to the US from Europe to photograph the big peace demonstrations taking place in New York and Washington, DC. Since many of the leading musicians of the period were also politically active, it was a natural progression for the idealistic photographer. His photographs have been published worldwide on the covers of The Saturday Evening Post, Life Magazine and Rolling Stone. Some of the musicians who have been a part of Landy's "vision" include The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, Eric Clapton, Joan Baez and Linda Ronstadt. He was "the official photograher" of the Woodstock Music and Arts Festival.

Cliff Mautner - Presented by Nikon

Although I now have over 750 weddings under my belt in the last decade, I have to admit that I once viewed wedding photography as a bit of a joke. I believed that it was a recipe motivated, formula driven genre that lacked creativity and spontaneity. My visual impression of wedding photography was the bride and groom staring at the camera next to the big tree, or the "gazebo shot"! These photos seemed cold and terribly staged. Light, texture, dimension, mood, composition, anticipation, passion, emotion, energy, romance and relationships, are the ingredients necessary to make great photographs at a wedding. I have truly come full circle with regard for both my attitude and respect for wedding photography. To me, it's all about the moments people share with one another on the wedding day.

It's going to be a GREAT DAY! We'll see you there.
